The Altar Server Ministry provides an opportunity for those interested, young and otherwise, to serve and assist on the altar, on Sundays and Weekday Masses, Weddings and Funerals. Training sessions are held on Saturdays from 4.00 PM - 5.30 PM. All are welcome to join this ministry; the requirement is that First Holy Communion has been received.
This ministry is very important to the life of the Church. The lector proclaims God’s Living Word. After Vatican II the role of laity in church-related functions increased and the use of lectors in liturgy greatly expanded. Lectors proclaim the First and Second Readings. If you have a passion for Scripture and desire to proclaim the Word through the ministry of Lector at Nagari St. Mary's Church, you would be most welcome to join the ministry.
Youth ministry is the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community.Youth ministry is most commonly associated with ministry to and with youth. This includes the variety of ways that young people gather for shared ministry. Youth group meetings, socials, sporting events, youth retreats, youth service events, and special youth prayer services are examples of gathered ministries in the youth setting. Sometimes specialized programs are provided for small groups of young people.This Ministry works under the guidance of diocesan youth chaplain.
On going religious formation to the young people is one of the important activities of the Church. In line with this mandate, the ministry of religious education in the parish Provides on going formation to school going children and youth. Regular classes are conducted every Sunday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The continuation education is also provided to the interested young adults during the same hours focussing on bible studies.
The Nagari mission was started by Fr. Paul Kuripilli, the then parish priest of Reniguta parish. This mission comprised of a few surrounding villages like Ekambarakuppam, Iruguvai Gundrajakuppam and a few villages in the present Tamilnadu state.
